Legion Ladies Auxiliary Craft Fair
Thank you to the Legion Ladies Auxiliary for donating the admission fee from their craft fair to our Light Up the Hospital! campaign. Please make sure to visit Bill Saliken’s booth at the craft fair, as he will be donating 30% of his sales to the campaign.
We are very excited this Christmas to be raising funds for a fibroscan for Kootenay Lake Hospital. This equipment is used in the diagnose of liver disease. If liver disease is detected, the result of the fibroscan is necessary to have the Pharmacare system pay for the cost of the treatment, which can be as high as $60,000 to $120,000. KLH is already the liver centre for the Kootenay Boundary, and Dr. Malpass feels that the addition of this equipment will enhance this program and help the patients of the Kootenay Boundary. Currently patients have to travel to Kelowna or even Vancouver for this important test, which is non-invasive and only takes approximately 15 minutes. Your donation will allow this test to be performed right here in Nelson.
